The Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race promises to be a celebration of Vietnam’s vibrant culture. Participants will have the unique chance to immerse themselves in the charming atmosphere of “antique Hanoi” during the fall/ winter season.
Standard Chartered officially announced that the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race will take place on November 3rd, 2024. Vietnam will be the 10th country to host the iconic Standard Chartered Marathon. With the slogan “Run on, go beyond”, the marathon is one of the key events planned to celebrate Standard Chartered’s 120 year presence in Vietnam.
Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Race Hanoi 2024 is open to all participants, from professional to amateur runners, bringing people from all walks of life together to stay active and lead a healthy lifestyle, while promoting running as one of the heritage sports of the capital. The race also aims to enhance Vietnam’s marathon presence globally, fostering sustainable development in the country’s tourism sector and positioning it as a favored destination among runners and the international community.
The route will traverse Hanoi’s iconic cultural heritage sites, offering runners the opportunity to immerse themselves in the charm of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. All sideline activities will align with sustainability criteria, paying homage to the enduring value of heritage and seamlessly blending sports with culture and art. Various distances cater to runners of all levels, ranging from the full marathon (42.195 km) and half-marathon (21.097 km) to 10km and 5km races, as well as a special distance designed specifically for children aged 5 to 12 years old.
Standard Chartered has had a rich history of hosting prestigious marathons worldwide since 1997. Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon is the Bank’s first marathon and the biggest with the participation of over 70,000 runners annually. This race, along with Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon, is categorized by the World Athletics Gold Label.
