Eckart is a seasoned supply chain professional with a diverse background in corporate, consulting, and academic roles. He has a long-term commitment to Vietnam and is deeply interested in providing support and assistance in the supply chain field. As the co-founder of Vietnam Supply Chain and the Sourcing & Purchasing Club in Vietnam, he has been a pioneer in the franchising sector in the country. His expertise includes sourcing from Vietnam with a focus on FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) and distributing FMCG within Vietnam.
Eckart specializes in supply chain management and consultancy, corporate training in supply chain, sourcing, FMCG distribution in Vietnam, and Italian coffee—specifically Hausbrandt Trieste for Vietnam. He is the General Director of Pacific Partners (VN), Ltd., a sourcing company specializing in FMCG, both food and non-food. This includes export activities to markets in the Pacific Islands and the import of non-food products to Vietnam, where he serves as the sole agent for Uncle Bills (Hongkong). More recently, he has opened a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City (www.theloop.vn).
Eckart’s journey in Vietnam began in 1995, and from 1996 to 2004, he worked for Unilever in Vietnam, Thailand, the Netherlands, and Germany in various supply chain positions, most recently as Regional Supply Chain Manager for Ice Cream for Southeast Asia. He holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management from Mannheim University (Germany), a Diploma in Business Administration, and a Postgraduate Degree (Lic.rer.pol.) in International Economics.
He is a co-founder of Vietnam Supply Chain (www.vietnamsupplychain.com) and has served on the Boards of Advisors for the Vietnam Supply Chain Council and as an advisor to the Sourcing & Purchasing Club Vietnam. Additionally, Eckart is a lecturer for the Executive MBA programs at RMIT University, Solvay MBA Program (Belgium).
