MEET OUR MEMBER –  STEPHAN KRUTÅ

Norwegian-born Stephan Krutå began his career in the Norwegian Armed Forces, where he served for more than a decade in varied roles. Among other achievements he was awarded the Coin of Excellence for his contribution to training NATO personnel. After leaving the military he pivoted to cultural heritage protection. At Oslo’s new MUNCH museum he served as senior security adviser, helping design and implement modern security protocols and programmes for high-value assets, contributing to MUNCH becoming internationally recognised for its risk management standards. Stephan also managed VIP event operations for royalty, politicians and diplomats, and oversaw contract management, saving the organisation hundreds of thousands of dollars over five years by eliminating unwarranted expenses.

He is a former board member of the Norwegian Business and Industry Security Council on the travel security board, advising the Norwegian private sector on travel security. In 2024 he established Stema Risk Management in Ho Chi Minh City. Drawing on more than sixteen years of experience he leads a consultancy that provides tailored security strategies, risk assessments, event planning and crisis management for cultural heritage institutions across APAC and MENA.

Outside work Stephan enjoys exploring Southeast Asia’s diverse cultures, people and art, and spends his time at the gym or engaging with his professional and social networks.
