Blended Members Meeting | What We’re Doing
Differently in 2025
17th December, 2024
At this blended members meeting (both face-to-face and online), hosted by Avison Young, “What We’re Doing Differently in 2025”, we were joined by the following panel:
- David Jackson, Principal and CEO – Avison Young Vietnam
- Trang Le, CEO – Multimedia JSC
- Victor Burrill, Chairman – Business Executive Network (Facilitator)
We had over 20 executives in attendance. Here were the key takeaways:
At this meeting, the panel discussed business updates and their future plans. Trang Le from Multimedia GSC highlighted the resilience of the fashion industry despite economic challenges, emphasizing the shift to digital platforms like TikTok for marketing and sales. She noted that smaller, multiple sponsorships and social commerce strategies are now more effective marketing strategies for many industries including retail and hospitality.
David Jackson from Avison Young Vietnam shared that 2024 was challenging, with industrial real estate on the Chinese border being his silver lining. He optimistically predicted a recovery in Q1-Q2 2025, driven by increased investor confidence and government initiatives, however many in attendance disagreed that the turnaround would be so soon.
David, the CEO, discussed Avison Young’s strategic expansion into Cambodia and the importance of adapting to technological advancements, such as AI and media presence, to stay competitive. He emphasized the need for agility and maintaining a positive work environment to retain employees. Despite political and economic uncertainties, David remains optimistic about Vietnam’s future, citing demographic trends and urbanization. He also highlighted the shift from traditional consulting to media-based business models. Tourism in Vietnam is booming, with inbound numbers surpassing 2019 levels. Tom Duncan, CEO of Pasteur Street Brewing, commented that the beer market is showing single-digit growth in mainstream brands but stagnation in premium sectors.
